The Biennial Nefertiti Awards and Scholarship Luncheon is our chapter’s signature event, held in March to honor Women’s History Month. This event celebrates outstanding African American women whose remarkable contributions in areas such as education, leadership, the arts, civil rights, public service, health, and science quietly but powerfully impact our communities. It also supports our commitment to providing scholarships to assist mentees in pursuing doctorate degrees in any field. By recognizing these women and supporting future leaders, we demonstrate our values of integrity, honesty, transparency, and a dedication to building lasting relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
The Greater Kansas City Chapter of Societas Docta, Incorporated is dedicated to the pursuit of Education and Research. A committee of members are responsible for maintaining a connective relationship with members that have pursued research in certain areas. Presentations and updates on research that is relevant to the interest of the membership is used for assigning mentor/mentees.
